Transportation Electrification Curriculum Development

As PEVs markets srive to mature with supply chains supporting a larger flow of more advanced PEVs, there remain relatively few educational and vocational programs dedicated to transportation-electrification to address the increasing need for more specialized training.

The UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation has teamed up with Edison International, and Southern California Edison to develop a roadmap for the creation of a wide array of fit-for-purpose and supportive curricula. The project aims to help set the direction, acknowledging the different opportunities for four related but distinct educational contexts:

  1. Vocational/technical training
  2. Community-College Transferrable credit and undergraduate general education
  3. Advanced undergraduate or general master's education
  4. Focused graduate education and transportation0electrification-related research programs.

Through the engagement of educational, industry, and other collaborators, the project hopes to develop a multi-phase, multi-stakeholder process of transportation electrification curriculum development for southern California region.
