DESCRIPTION:Register Here\nMore Info\nPlastic pollution has long been a problem affecting people and the planet’s health locally and globally. The recent upheaval in the global recycling and waste industry\, followed by the pandemic\, has deepened the challenges and  necessity for change. Why have existing policies failed us? California lawmakers and corporate leaders have taken and proposed innovative steps in recent years\, but are they enough?  \nA panel of policy\, corporate and academic leaders will discuss the need and strategies for a more closed loop\, less wasteful economy.\n \n\n\n\nWhat does corporate social responsibility around recycling and waste reduction look like in the absence of effective legislation? What is the responsibility of the private sector to address public interest more broadly? \nWhere are our recycling and composting policies headed? How could California policymakers advance a closed loop\, circular system approach?
