SUMMARY:L.A. Region Green Economy Think-Tank Day
DESCRIPTION:THE GREEN ECONOMY THINK-TANK DAY will convene leaders and decision makers from various private and public sectors to build a more green and sustainable Los Angeles economy. The Luskin Center will help facilitate a break-out session that will help unite scholarship with society to advance the Los Angeles region a clean tech capital. The Luskin Center will also release its recent Clean Technology in Los Angeles report and provide its findings to key stakeholders. UCLA School of Public Affairs students Kristina Bedrossian\, Sarah Locher\, Frank Lopez and Matthew O’Keef have compiled a report on L.A.’s current status as a city in the clean technology industry. Comparing Los Angeles to other leading cities\, the authors make a number of astute observations about LA’s strengths and weaknesses and offer a number of key suggestions for how LA can change its policies to become the nation’s leader in “green” technology.
