Cass Sunstein, one of America’s leading public intellectuals and recent head of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, opened his Luskin Center hosted lecture on Dec. 6th with an image of Brad Pitt from the movie Moneyball.  Noting that Moneyball underscores how humans make decisions based one of two systems, Professor Sunstein differentiated System 1 as automatic, intuitive and effortless while System 2 is deliberative, calculative and statistical.

California voters have approved Proposition 39: the California Clean Energy Jobs Act and its implementation will be supported by Luskin Center research. The Luskin Center partnered with the Los Angeles Business Council (LABC) Institute to evaluate program design options for Prop 39 funds and other efforts to spur energy efficiency and local renewable energy investments in California.
