About Kathryn:

Kathryn McConnell is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of British Columbia. Her research examines the intersection of environmental hazards, the built environment, and population mobility, with a focus on understanding the long-term impacts of highly destructive wildfires. Kathryn previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Brown University’s Population Studies and Training Center. She holds a PhD and an MESc from Yale School of the Environment.
