Nicholas
Nairn-Birch 

Nicholas Nairn-Birch
is an Air Resources Engineer with the California Air Resources Board in the
Incentives and Technology Advancement Branch. He recently returned to
California after working in Washington D.C. as Environmental Protection
Specialist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he advanced policy
to manage risk from chemicals in commerce. Dr.
Nairn-Birch holds a Doctorate in Environmental Science and Engineering from
UCLA.

Nurit Katz
Nurit Katz is UCLA’s first Chief Sustainability Officer and also Executive Officer
of Facilities Management at UCLA. Previously, she founded the
UCLA Sustainable Resource Center and assisted in developing the Leaders in
Sustainability. Nurit holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management
and a Master’s in Public Policy from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
Nurit was honored as one of 100 Inspirational Alumni for the 75th Anniversary
of UCLA Anderson.

Kristen Pawling
Kristen Pawling is a Regional Planner for the Southern California Association
of Governments, focusing on sustainability and comprehensive open space
planning. Previously she was an Executive Fellow with the California Air
Resources Board. Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography/Environmental
Studies and a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, both from UCLA.

Brian
Yolles
Brian Yolles manages the Corporate Partners Program (his LiS
project) affiliated with UCLA’s Institute of the Environment and
Sustainability. He is also founder and CEO of StockShield, LLC, a broker-dealer
specializing in investment portfolio risk management. Brian graduated from Yale
and UCLA, where he earned his MBA.
