About the Speaker

Dr. Gregory Pierce is the senior director of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Luskin Center for Innovation, the director of the Human Right to Water Solutions Lab, and the director of the UCLA Water Resources Group within the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. He serves as an associate faculty member in the Department of Urban Planning. In early 2025, he launched a Water System-Wildfire Working Group with UCLA and UC Agriculture and Natural Resources (UCANR) colleagues. The working group has held 4 in-person workshops, engaged extensively in policy conversations, and produced 13 reports and journal articles on emerging issues. He earned his BA, MA, and PhD from UCLA.
