The Wildfire-Stormwater Nexus event hosted by UCLA’s Water Resource Group features Dr. Sanjay Mohanty, Director of SEALab, and Onja Davidson-Raoelison, Doctoral Researcher at SEALab, who will discuss their research on the effect of anthropogenic and natural stressors such as wildfire on biogeochemical processes in subsurface soil and mitigating negative impacts on surface water quality using green infrastructure.
The event will also feature remarks and a panel discussion from Dr. Faith Kearns, UC Water Institute Academic Coordinator, who will discuss science communication, community engagement, and relationship-building as they relate to the environment and water resources, and Ken Susilo, Senior Principal Water Resources Engineer at Geosyntec, who specializes in developing multi-benefit solutions for stormwater management and water conservation.
