Researcher(s): V. Kelly Turner, Colleen Callahan, and partners
Funder(s): California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment
Abstract:
This report provides guidance for Californians to understand and use CalHeatScore, a public health tool that translates weather and health data into localized heat-health risk information. The guide explains how to navigate the tool, assess heat-health risk based on personal health, place, and physical activity, and take protective actions before and during extreme heat. It also guides organizations, businesses, and local governments on incorporating CalHeatScore into planning and decision-making to help protect communities from heat-related health impacts.
