This guide provides step-by-step guidance for using California’s CalHeatScore tool to understand local heat-health risks — based on past and projected health outcomes along with heat exposure data — and prepare for extreme heat. It explains how personal health, environment, and physical activity can affect heat risk and offers guidance for individuals, organizations, businesses, and local governments to use CalHeatScore to take protective action.
