The brief examines shade coverage across Omaha, finding that the city has about as much shade as the average American city but significant disparities between neighborhoods. It highlights the importance of trees for midday shade and calls for targeted investments in low-shade areas, particularly places where people are exposed to heat, such as schools and public transit.
